Chiltern Arts: Mozart and Mendelssohn
Chiltern Arts Festival 2020
City of London Sinfonia returns to Chiltern Arts for the third year running, finishing the festival with a flourish in quaint Old Amersham.
Written between 1799 and 1800, the Septet marked the end of Beethoven’s first major output of chamber music. Its style has been said to imitate the lighter side of Mozart’s writing; and here we hear it alongside Mozart’s most technically complex and ambitious wind serenade: the Gran Partita.
