City of London Sinfonia are joined by Patron, Dame Felicity Lott for an immersive afternoon in an imaginary Viennese Salon complete with Kaffee und Kuchen, waltzing and music by some of the European city’s most famous adopted sons. Lit by candlelight, this unique space will play host to some of Richard Strauss’s most dramatic and romantic music for full orchestra and opera, staged in miniature form. Schoenberg and Berg, two composers who redefined music for the 20th century frame this performance, as re-imagined by two of the UK’s leading composers, David and Colin Matthews.
