City of London Sinfonia offers its audiences a rare opportunity to hear Mahler’s great symphony of song, Das Lied Von der Erde with two of the UK’s most exciting young vocal talents, Anna Huntley and Gwilym Bowen. Originally conceived for vast orchestral forces, hear this epic and stunning work re-imagined for salon ensemble in one of London’s most atmospheric spaces with a story-telling introduction to the piece by Rachel Rose Reid, exploring the composer’s own words and emotions. Before the grand finale, Johann Strauss’s waltzes set the scene for the evening alongside the next in our ‘Bach RE:Imagined’ series by young Australian-Brit composer Luke Styles.
