Our productions, performances and concerts range from performing Handel’s Messiah in St Paul’s Cathedral to being the resident orchestra at Opera Holland Park to platforming new commissions from the most exciting contemporary composers. Our partnerships with Faber, the London Review of Books, and leading scientists and academics add depth and richness to our programming. As well as offering world-class classical music concerts, we also work with a range of collaborators to contextualise the music we play and commission, highlighting its importance and relevance to contemporary life.
The Exoplanets
Seven exoplanets. Seven composers. A groundbreaking orchestral journey on the cutting edge of astrophysics.
New commissions
REST
A new commission in four movements from composer Emily Levy, REST explores the UK’s response to migrants and refugees over the past 80 years. Attached to the commission are community projects with partners working to support refugees and migrants, providing the opportunity to co-create moments of music reflecting their lived experience. Premiering in our 2026-27 season. Find out more below or sign up to our mailing list for the latest updates.
Literary collaborations
City of London Sinfonia’s music-literary projects invite a re-examination of our relationship to tradition, artistic medium and identity. Two cornerstones of English literary publishing, Faber & Faber and the London Review of Books, join CLS in partnerships that centre the established traditions across music and literature whilst challenging and celebrating new dialogues and viewpoints.
Support our programming
CLS is a registered charity, and would not exist without the generosity of our supporters. Your donation will help us continue bringing music to new audiences and create moments of shared connection.
