Southbank Centre's Queen Elizabeth Hall reopened in April 2018, following a grand refurbishment.

The building, which is also home the Purcell Room, was opened in March 1967 by Her Majesty the Queen. The auditorium has 917 seats and is host to chamber orchestras, quartets, choirs, dance performances, opera and music theatre. [Extract from the Southbank Centre website.]

How to get there

Southbank Centre is a short walk via York Road from Waterloo station (Jubilee, Bakerloo and Nothern lines; National Rail). Buses such as the 243 stop outside the station. The cultural hub is home to a number of restaurants and bars alongside the Thames river on the South Bank.
