Creative music making with headway

Headway is a charity for survivors of brain injury, with centres around the country where Headway members can seek information and support, rehabilitation services and social activities. CLS has been making music with people at Headway East London since 2018, creating compositions through instrument experimentation and improvisation that eventually culminate in sound installations. Projects are co-produced with Headway members and staff so that sessions not only enhance the centre’s programme but also leave a lasting legacy. Responding to the interests and access needs of the group, the artistic team make music alongside members as well as perform classical repertoire to provide a unique, up close live music experience that impacts across the centre.

We hope to extend our work in East London to South East London and Kent this year.
