Participation in education settings
We place equal value on everything we do, whether performing in international concert halls, opera houses or with children and young people in schools, nurseries or other education settings. Our projects in these environments bring vital music-making opportunities to young people who because of geographical isolation or socioeconomic background would not otherwise have access to music-making with professional musicians.
We believe that every young person should be able to experience the transformative joy of music, to fire their creativity, enhance their learning and, where appropriate, open a pathway to performing.
Our projects encompass very young children at schools and nurseries in isolated areas of rural and coastal England where arts provision is low, and some of the most diverse and socioeconomically deprived areas of London. We bring outstanding music-making to these young people at a crucial time in their lives, and in partnership with local Music Education Hubs, ensure that the experiences we create with these young people can be the catalyst for a lifetime of music-making.
With our partners, we create large-scale experiences for young people in secondary school that celebrates their creative achievements and gives them the opportunity to experience performing alongside our own outstanding musicians.
In all these environments, our musicians who provide the creative spark alongside outstanding artistic leaders who bring skills in composition, technology and storytelling to our projects.
