City of London Sinfonia (CLS) seeks a Participation Projects Manager to help deliver the Orchestra’s wide-ranging wellbeing and education programmes, working alongside the Director of Participation. Now entering its 30th year, the Participation Programme brings our orchestral musicians into hospitals, care homes, schools and nurseries through interactive workshops and chamber performances, with particular strengths in Wellbeing and Mainstream Education. The Programme is viewed as an integral and equal part of the Orchestra’s activities by musicians, trustees and senior management and this role is a chance for an ambitious individual to thrive at the heart of an organisation that places great value on our participation activity.

We are seeking an individual who shares our passion for Learning and Participation and sharing live music with people of all ages and backgrounds and has at least three years’ professional experience. Of equal importance is appointing an individual with a creative mind, and exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills. There will be opportunities to increase responsibility and tailor the role to individual strengths.

Closing date for applications is Wednesday 6 June at 9am. First round interviews take place on Wednesday 13 June at the Orchestra’s offices in Brixton (shortlisted candidates will be asked to prepare a short task for this interview).

This position is a full-time role (40 hours per week, including one hour for lunch each day, but will consider flexible/part-time working), 25 days holiday PA, and with a salary of £25,000 to £28,000 PA depending on experience. We will consider flexible working and/or a higher salary for exceptional candidates. Any appointment will be subject to a full Disclosure and Barring Service check.

The post-holder will be expected to work on evenings and weekends at the Orchestra’s events and projects and attend all the Orchestra’s own-promoted events in addition to participation projects. The role reports to the Director of Participation. Regular travel within the UK is required.
