CLoSer: You Decide!

Posted on: December 3, 2012 in: Uncategorised

We want your help in selecting the first piece for the Orchestra to play at our next CLoSer concert on 13 February at Village Underground. This concert features jazz saxophonist Tim Garland who premieres his new work Songs for the North Sky, as well as the hauntingly beautiful Night Prayers by Giya Kancheli, and we want you to decide on the first piece of music we’ll perform from the two below

The first piece is the jazz inspired December by American Michael Torke and the second choice is the funny and theatrical piece Moz-art a la Haydn by Russian composer Alfred Schnittke, who incidentially was good friends with Kancheli!

Don’t worry if you can’t decide straight away as we’ll be posting more information on the composers and the pieces throughout the week. The poll closes on Friday at 5pm, so get voting!
