John Singer
Chairman
John has always mixed music with his former day job as a partner and European Chairman of Advent International, a leading international private equity fund, combining his previous experience in merchant banking, strategic consulting worldwide with McKinsey, and carrying out turnarounds of quoted companies. His interest in music started with accompanying his mezzo-soprano mother; he then studied the French horn, and he still plays the piano, as well as the harpsichord which he built himself.
"As an honorary fellow of my old College, Trinity, Oxford, I really value the extension of our extended CLS family philosophy into educational institutes at all ages and stages inside and outside the UK. Music is for sharing and discovering."
Richard Spiegelberg
Deputy Chairman
Richard has spent a career in journalism, government, advertising and investment banking. He is a marketing and corporate communications consultant, advising mainly financial services firms, including Holbein Partners LLP, a family office. He is also a trustee of the Forum for European Philosophy.
“It is a privilege and a pleasure to be a part of the CLS 'family'. What could be more uplifting than experiencing the sheer joy created by such gifted and committed musicians, whether in the concert hall, the opera house or among people, young and old, in schools, hospitals and care homes."
